Love God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first great commandment. The second commandment is equally great: love your neighbor as you love yourself. —Matthew 22:37-39.
This is the most fundamental teaching that Jesus gave. It’s called His Greatest Commandment.
How do we know that this is His most fundamental teaching?
He said so:
On these two great commandments hang all the law and the prophets. —Matthew 22:40.
What did He mean by “all the law and the prophets?”
That’s all the rest of the bible!
If we don’t love God and our neighbor as ourselves, we can’t really understand the rest of His teachings. It would be like trying to learn written English without first learning the ABC’s or trying to learn mathematics without first learning the 123’s.
We’ve taken a single focus on living his most fundamental teaching — loving God and neighbor. Let’s master that first.
We do our work through our various ministries. Connect with the ones that you feel called you.
